The event is unique in its choice of intimate and unexpected projection venues and the participation of its special guests.  The Festival strives to offer the public an opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the world of film and video of many different genres.  It is also an occasion to promote and familiarize the public with the region as a natural hub for the filmmaking industry as well as a lifestyle choice for many artists and artisans working in the film milieu.
Drawing upon the unique qualities of the region’s culture, history and location, the Eastern Townships Film Festival aims to create a lasting bond between the place, the audience and a celebration of the cinematic arts.

§  To bring together the best of both worlds - that of our unique rural environment with its magnificent and welcoming attributes and that of the film world found in most major urban centers;

§  To provide multi-generational, accessible, affordable and bilingual entertainment that is not offered elsewhere in our area;

§  To create a prestigious Festival respected by producers, creators and distributors as well as the public at large;

§  To showcase works created by local talent from the film milieu residing in the Eastern Townships, and to celebrate their successes and accomplishments;

§  To enrich and strengthen local filmmaking talent by offering Master classes and annual networking opportunities;
§  To ensure community access to film screenings by offering at least one free outdoor projection;

§  To encourage increasing public participation from the region, Montreal, as well as other parts of Québec;
